Land of the Free... Home of the Brave...

On our drive home today... I was able to catch this shot of one of the most
precious symbols of the land that we love...

the American Flag... and it only flies freely because of the brave men and
women who we honor today... those who sacrificed their lives for this
country... and for us... so that we can enjoy the freedom that is ours today...
Lord bless and comfort those who mourn their loss.

 Mike and I enjoyed a few days away with his sister Cindy and hubby Kerry...


We camped at Farewell Bend State Park on the Oregon/Idaho border...


right on the Snake River... don't you love those rolling mountains?


Cindy and I loved walking this tree-lined paths...


and delighted in the blessing of these brightly colored flowers.


There weren't many wildflowers around there but...


I was tickled purple... LOL... to spot a few morning glories on our campsite...


especially with my focus right now on Morning Glory Art and having just put
the free Greeting Card on for you to download...I felt like it was
a little gift from the Lord.  And don't forget... just two more days left...

We drove in and out of the rain coming home but the clouds were gorgeous...


even breathtaking at times... we were blessed... and thankful to live in this
country... even with all its problems... it's still the land that we love!

Thanks for letting me share a little of our weekend and the beauty of God's

Lord God... I am so thankful that it doesn't matter if the skies are cloudy
and it's pouring down rain... if we're willing to look up... beyond what we
see with our earthly eyes... we will behold the glory of the Lord Jesus that
has truly risen upon us and bathes us with the light of Your love... and
gives us everything we need to arise above our earthly circumstances and
shine for You... for your glory Lord! Thank You Lord... You are amazing!

How Time Flies...

...and I've missed you!!  I kept thinking about you and how I wanted to
share all the fun stuff that was keeping me so busy...
but in all the busyness, there was no time to share! 
I guess that's just how life is sometimes!

I've been working on the house... cleaning out a few more cupboards...
keeping it show-ready and steadily getting ready for the day it sells.

I've also been working on some licensing opportunities that came knocking
on my door... and even though I can't share with who or what for...
these are a some of the designs and patterns I've been working on...


 

I love creating patterns... so I'm hoping that there's a company out
there who will want to take my art and turn it into products you
might want or need in the days to come!  Did you know though, that even
if a design is chosen by a company today, it will usually be a year or more
before you would see it in the stores?  Talk about planning ahead! Whew!

The other big thing that took priority in my life was preparing to be
the speaker for the Granite Falls Community Bible Church Women's Tea
just last weekend. We had such a glorious time... God showed up...
and we were all blessed beyond measure!

Michel, Debbie, Genevieve, me, Joy, Sue, Cindy (hiding), and Becky.

I shared with them about "Blooming Where We're Planted" which is a message
we all need to be reminded of on occasion... including myself.  Every woman
received this magnet to remind her of how God spoke to her there...


Granite Falls is north of Seattle so Michael and I took the camper up and hung
out for the entire weekend... we were shown so much wonderful hospitality
we're not sure who was more blessed by our being there!

So though it doesn't seem like much... this was my life for the last couple of
weeks... but I'm back!!  Yeah!!

Checks With a Message!

Do you still write checks?  I do.
Not as many as I used to... but when I do, I am blessed to be able to
share God's Word at the same time... and that's why today I want to
introduce you to PromiseChecks... one of my art licensing partners.
You would love the folks I work with there... they truly do love the Lord!



"My House" and "Seeds of Faith" were the very first checks we did together
several years ago... and they're still going strong! Why?
Because women like you and me love having the opportunity to share a
message of God's love and blessing... whenever and however we can...
including when we pay bills or go shopping.  I smile just thinking about
how the art and message of these checks have opened the door for me to
have some great conversations with store clerks over the years... and they
didn't even know I was the artist!  I just know there have been bookkeepers
who have been encouraged as they received and sorted out bill payments!

So... I thought you'd like to know that PromiseChecks just introduced three
new design collections with my art and they are wonderful!

I think the "Fruit of the Spirit" is my favorite...

and I LOVE the checkbook cover... doesn't it look so delicious?

Thank You Father... that we can have a personal relationship with You...
that You even want to talk to us... to have conversation with us! Thank You
that You can and will use so many different avenues to speak to our hearts...
to communicate Your love and blessings. I do pray over these checks Lord...
that as small and insignificant as they may seem... I know that You can use
them to minister Your Word at just the right moment to just the right person.
I pray that we would be women who truly do walk in the Spirit and use the
opportunities you give us today, whether through a check or a note or even
just a smile Lord, to touch and care for the people you have placed along
the paths of our lives... all for Your glory... amen.
